Onero™ is an evidence-based exercise program designed specifically to prevent osteoporotic fracture by stimulating bone development and preventing falls in at-risk individuals. The evidence on which the Onero programme is based is derived from the findings of the LIFTMOR randomised controlled trial published in the JBMR.
The exercise protocol is targeted specifically to bone, being brief but high intensity. The Onero™ program is currently delivered clinically at The Bone Clinic in Brisbane, its affiliated training locations and through Licensees across Australia.
The ONERO programme is based on the outcomes of the LIFTMOR and MEDEXOP trials, published in the attached peer-reviewed publications. To find out more, please visit https://theboneclinic.com.au/onero/
If you are interested in booking an assessment please contact us on 49631140.
I am interested – what next?
Step 1: You will need a 30 min initial assessment with our registered Onero practitioner. This is so that we can obtain a thorough history, review your most recent bone density (DXA) scan results and perform a thorough assessment to determine your eligibility for the class.
Step 2: You will then have a 30 min 1:1 follow up with the Physiotherapist to teach you the movements involved in the Onero exercises.
Step 3: You can now attend the group classes. You can book in for the classes either online, at the clinic or over the phone. If you would prefer to continue with 1:1 training, or don’t feel ready for the group yet, this is OK! Please discuss with your Physiotherapist to organise this.
When are the classes?
We currently run the following class times:
Tuesday – 12.30pm, 1pm, 5pm
Thursday – 12.30pm, 1pm, 5pm
Friday – 8am
Please note if you are unable to find a spot in your desired class time when booking online, please call the clinic as we can put you on a cancellation list.
How much do the classes cost?
The classes are $21 per session. If you have private health insurance this may cover a portion of the class – please contact your provider.
What do I need to bring to the assessment and class?
Please bring a copy of your most recent bone density (DXA) scan results and any other medical information relevant to you.
Please wear comfortable gym appropriate clothing.
I have chronic injuries and aches and pains! Am I going to be able to do the exercises?
We tailor the class to you specifically. We can work around any injuries. If you have a current injury, you could see one of our experienced Physiotherapists on the side.
